The Iran participated in the 2002 Winter Olympics in part with a delegation of two male athletes who took part in alpine skiing and cross-country skiing.

It was the country's seventh participation in the Winter Olympics.

Flag bearer

Ski racer Bagher Kalhor carried the flag of Iran during the opening ceremony at the Rice-Eccles Stadium .
