At the 2018 Winter Olympics , India participated with two athletes in two disciplines. It was the tenth participation of an Indian team in the Winter Olympics since it first took part in 1964 .
The flag bearer at the opening ceremony on February 9th was the luge athlete and six-time Olympian Shiva Keshavan .

Luge
For the sixth time already, Shiva Keshavan - the only Indian luge in Olympic history - took part in the winter games. The “fastest man in India” was again without a chance for a medal in the single-seater and after three runs could not qualify for the 4th run of the top 20. Ultimately, he finished the competition in 34th place (out of 40).

Cross-country skiing
As only the fourth Indian cross-country skier in Olympic history, Jagdish Singh took part in the 15-kilometer Free Style run on February 16, 2018. He finished the race in 103rd place, more than nine minutes behind the victorious Swiss Dario Cologna .
