Olympic qualification

Nigeria did not participate in qualifying for the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow . All your attention was on the African Cup in your own country. Due to the boycott of Ghana ( winner of group 2 ) due to the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan , the new African champion was subsequently registered by the CAF for the Olympic tournament.
