This article covers the Cuban Football Olympics selection during the 1980 Summer Olympics .
Olympic qualification
Cuba prevailed against Jamaica in the first round, but lost to Haiti in the second round and originally missed qualifying for the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow . Due to the boycott of the qualified United States over the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan , CONCACAF retrospectively registered Cuba for the Olympic tournament.

In the preliminary round, after two wins against Zambia and Venezuela in the last game against the host Soviet Union, it was all about first place in the group, which the Soviet Union secured with a clear victory. Second they qualified for the quarter-finals, where they were eliminated from the tournament after losing to Czechoslovakia.
