One Day at a Time is an American sitcom from 2017. It is a remake or reboot of the series of the same name , which aired on CBS from 1975 to 1984 . Netflix released all 13 episodes of the first season on January 6, 2017. In March 2017, Netflix extended the series with a 13-part second season, which was released on January 26, 2018. A third season with 13 episodes has been running on Netflix since February 8, 2019.

In March 2019, the series of Netflix ended after three seasons. However, the pay TV broadcaster Pop had a fourth season produced, which premiered there on March 24, 2020.

The Alvarez family of Cuban origin consists of Penelope, a newly separated former military medic, their two children Elena and Alex and their mother Lydia. They live together in a rental apartment in Los Angeles . The landlord lives in the same house and is a very good friend of the family.
