Judy G. Reyes (born November 5, 1967 in New York ) is an American actress .

Life

Judy Reyes was born in 1967 in the Bronx, New York City and grew up there. She discovered her interest in acting at Hunter College in Manhattan . Even after she got her first film role in Love, Hate and Impotence in 1992 , she continued to play the theater with devotion. She was a co-founder of the Labyrinth Theater Company, a multicultural acting community. She became known to a wider television audience with the role of nurse Carla Espinosa in the television series Scrubs , in which she starred from 2001 to 2009. With the character Carla, she also shares her family origins from the Dominican Republic . From 2013 to 2016 she was in the television series Devious Maids as Zoila in front of the camera.

Reyes' dizygoti twin sister Joselin Reyes and her sister Fidias Reyes also starred in several television productions. Judy Reyes also has a third sister. Reyes was married to Edwin M. Figueroa, from whom she is divorced. Since November 27, 2009, she has been the mother of a daughter, whose father is her partner George Valencia.
