Marijuana Operation (AKA Growing Op , Alternative title High School Girls and Marijuana ) is a Canadian comedy film of director Michael Melski , who is also the writer wrote.

action

Teenage boy Quinn's parents grow cannabis on a large scale in their home . They reject a conventional lifestyle and teach their children at home to protect them from what they believe to be harmful influences of school. Quinn is unhappy with the situation because he has no friends.

One day when new neighbors move into the house across the street, he falls in love with their daughter Crystal. Because of her, he enrolls in high school against the opposition of his parents . There he quickly becomes the target of ridicule from Philip and his friends. It wasn't until Quinn bragged about his knowledge of cannabis at a party that he was recognized and admired by most of his classmates. He even manages to get Crystal to go to prom with him instead of Philip. On the day of the ball, he introduces Crystal to his parents and shows them the drug plantation in the house.

Quinn and his parents are arrested by the police at the school graduation ceremony the following day. It turns out that Crystal and her parents are, in fact, covert drug traffickers. Quinn is proposed a deal: he should testify against his parents in exchange for impunity. He accepts this on the advice of his father.

In the end, Quinn, who received a map of a hiding place with money and cannabis seeds from his father, continues the family tradition and grows cannabis.

"Bizarre mixture of family drama and (stoner) comedy, which entertains entertainingly, but hits a few hooks too many towards the end."
