Oskar Thierbach
Oskar Thierbach (born February 11, 1909 in Dresden or Robschütz , † November 6, 1991 in Solingen ) was a German racing cyclist .
Oskar Thierbach was a professional cyclist from 1930 to 1939 and from 1948 to 1952; In the period before the Second World War he was one of the strongest road drivers in Germany. During these years he started six times in the Tour de France ; his best placement was a seventh place overall in 1932 . In 1935 he was tenth, in 1932 eleventh, in 1930 he was 13th and in 1937 14th. His worst placement was a 23rd place in 1933 .
In 1930 Thierbach was fourth in the overall ranking of the Tour of Germany , in 1931 second in the overall ranking of the Tour , in 1937 seventh and in 1939 again fourth. In 1934 he won the Harz Tour . In 1935 he was German runner-up in road racing and second in Rund um Berlin .
After the war, Thierbach became active again and initially drove track races in East Germany. In 1948 he went to Solingen and started for the team of the bicycle manufacturer Patria WKC . He was 13th in the 1948 Tour of Germany with the official name of the IRA Green Belt. At the end of 1952, he ended his active career and opened a wallpaper shop in Solingen-Ohligs .
