Otto Kentzler

Otto Kentzler (born October 30, 1941 in Dortmund ; † April 28, 2019 ) was a German entrepreneur and president of the Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH) .

Life

After graduating from high school and completed teaching to the gas-water fitter and plumber studied Kentzler mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Hannover with the completion engineer . He was the managing partner of Kentzler GmbH and Co. KG in Dortmund, a craft business for plumbing and roofing.

From 1989 to 1994 Kentzler was head master of the sanitary, heating and air conditioning guild in Dortmund and Lünen and member of the board of the Dortmund district craftsmen . From 1992 to 1995 he was alternating chairman of the guild health insurance fund , from 1994 member of the plenary assembly and the board of the Dortmund Chamber of Crafts and finally its president and later its honorary president. In addition, Kentzler was a member of the executive committee of the Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH). From 1998 to 2002 he was deputy chairman of the West German Chamber of Crafts . In 2000 he became chairman of the board of trustees of the social institute of the Archdiocese of Paderborn (coming), in 1994 member of the board of trustees and in 2000 chairman of the general assembly of the Foundation for the Promotion of Gifted German Crafts. From 2004 to 2013 Kentzler was President of the ZDH. Then the ZDH made him its honorary president. From May 30, 2008 he was a member of the supervisory board of BayWa AG.

Kentzler was married and had two children. From 1964 he was a member of the Catholic student association AV Frisia Hannover in the CV .
