Heinrich Otto Leopold von Plathner (born December 31, 1811 in Widzim , † January 3, 1884 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Plathner parents were the landowner, chamber councilor and general administrator of the princely Orange-Nassau estates in the Grand Duchy of Warsaw Georg August Ludwig Plathner (1781-1859) and Leopoldine Henriette Rosalie nee. Hoffmann-Scholtz (1791-1870).

Otto attended the Friedrichs-Gymnasium in Breslau from 1822 to 1828 . He then studied law at the University of Breslau until 1830 and then went to the University of Berlin until 1831 . In 1831 he passed the auscultation exam and entered the Prussian civil service. First he worked at the patrimonial court in Kamenz and in 1832 at the city court in Breslau. From 1833 to 1834 he was a trainee lawyer in Schweidnitz and in 1834 at the Higher Regional Court in Breslau. Other locations followed such as Zobten , Jauer , Ratibor , Görlitz , Sprottau , Groß Salze and Halberstadt .

From May 18, 1848 to May 20, 1849 he was a member of the National Assembly for Halberstadt . Plathner was a member of the casino faction . From October 1848 to January 1849 he served as Parliamentary Secretary. In 1849 he took part in the Gotha Assembly , in 1850 he was a member of the Erfurt Union Parliament . In 1867 he was a liberal candidate in the elections for the Prussian House of Representatives in constituency 100 (Breslau 9), but could not win the mandate.

From 1849 he worked as a city judge in Wroclaw, in 1858 he moved to Berlin as a judge of the regional court, in 1868 as a senior tribunal advisor and in 1879 as an imperial judge in Leipzig . As a judge he was assigned to the 4th Civil Senate .

On October 21, 1881 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Leipzig . On January 18, 1870, he was awarded the 4th Class Red Eagle , 3rd Class on January 18, 1879 and 2nd Class with Oak Leaves on October 21, 1881. He retired on October 1, 1882. He died unmarried.

He was the author of legal writings, among other things, `` Assessment of the draft of the penal code for the Prussian states by comparison with the general land law, the Code pénal and the Austrian penal code (Berlin 1844) '' and worked for the legal weekly .
