Otto Vitense (politician)

Otto Vitense (born July 19, 1912 in Neubrandenburg , † December 29, 1962 in Berlin ; full name: Karl Otto Vitense ) was a Hessian politician ( CDU ) and former district administrator of the Untertaunuskreis .

Otto Vitense (the younger) was born as the second son and youngest child of the Neubrandenburg high school teacher Otto Vitense and his wife Elise, née Krog (1887–1976). He attended elementary school and the humanistic grammar school in Neubrandenburg. He completed his studies at the universities of Rostock , Jena, Vienna and Leipzig from 1930 to 1937 with a doctorate in Leipzig and the state examination for the higher teaching post in Rostock. From 1938 he worked in a Berlin publishing house.

politics

Otto Vitense became politically active after the Second World War and was district chairman of the CDU in Schlüchtern until August 1946. He was also a member of the state board of the CDU Hessen .

Otto Vitense was appointed by the American occupation authorities for the period from July 1945 to December 1945 as mayor and deputy district administrator in Schlüchtern. From 1948 to 1962 he was elected district administrator in the Untertaunus district . From October 1, 1946 to November 30, 1946 he was a member of the State Assembly of Greater Hesse, which advised the constitution .
