Otto von Keudell (politician)
Otto Leopold Heinrich von Keudell (born April 15, 1810 in Gielgudiszken , Lithuania , † March 18, 1853 in Berlin ) was a Prussian officer and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .
Life
The son of the landowner Leopold von Keudell was brought up in Gnadenfrei . In 1826 he began his military career in the Prussian Army as a cadet in a cuirassier regiment . In 1828 he was promoted to Portepee Ensign , in 1829 to Second Lieutenant and in 1841 to Prime Lieutenant. Keudell moved to a Landwehr regiment in 1842 and a Uhlan regiment in Königsberg in 1845 . In the same year he was given the leadership of the Landwehr squadron in Neustettin . In 1848 he was transferred to the General Staff in Berlin. At the beginning of 1849 he moved into the Frankfurt National Assembly as the successor to Alexander von Wartensleben-Schwirsen for the 7th constituency of the province of Pomerania ( Greifenberg ). He did not join any parliamentary group, participated in the Committee on People's Armament and Army and voted with the right-wing center. He was promoted to captain that same year but soon retired. He lived with his youngest brother Robert von Keudell in Berlin until his death in 1853 .
