Pöritzsch is a district of the city of Saalburg-Ebersdorf in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

Geography and geology

On a heart-shaped, east-sloping plateau to the left of the Bleiloch reservoir at the bridge crossing from Saalburg towards Ebersdorf, Pöritzsch is located in the south- east of Thuringia slate mountains . The hills and slopes of the reservoir are wooded. The old Nürnberger Straße in the direction of Leipzig used to lead here through the Saale valley via Saalburg to Schleiz. The agriculturally used area is very fertile because the soil has a high proportion of fine soil and humus content .

With the 610 line of the KomBus transport company , Pöritzsch has connections to the cities of Schleiz , Bad Lobenstein and Lehesten .

Neighboring places

Neighboring towns are to the east to the right of the Saalburg dam, to the south is Sopoten and to the west is Friesau .
