The village of Röppisch with 198 inhabitants ( as of January 1st, 2016 ) is located in the east of the state of Thuringia . It was incorporated into the former municipality of Ebersdorf / Thuringia on May 6, 1993.

Röppisch, which is around 500 meters above sea level, has a permanent campsite and a weekend house settlement. Both are located about one kilometer from the village center directly on the Röppischer Bucht of the Bleilochtalsperre .

The village, which is located in a wooded area, offers a Romanesque-style church, a village square with a fire water pond , two restaurants, a few holiday apartments and an agricultural cooperative that emerged from an agricultural production cooperative .

The church, originally built as a fortified church, impresses above all with its rich furnishings . The inner church door still has the medieval wrought iron fittings.

Club life is shaped by sports clubs, youth clubs and the volunteer fire brigade .
