Pęczki ( German  Pentzken , 1938 to 1945 Kleinmuckenhausen ) was a small place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in the area of today's rural municipality Janowo in the powiat Nidzicki ( Neidenburg district ).

The local office of Pęczki is located in the south-western center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . Before 1945, the state border with Poland , which was formed by the course of the Orschütz ( Orzyc in Polish ), ran less than 1 km further south . The district town of Nidzica ( German  Neidenburg ) is 14 kilometers to the west.

The former Pensken (after 1871 Penzken , after 1895 Pentzken ) was founded in 1544. As an estate district , the small village was incorporated into the district of Roggen (Polish: Róg ) in the East Prussian district of Neidenburg in 1874. In 1910 Pentzken had 27 inhabitants.

On September 30, 1928 the manor districts of Camerau , Lomno and Pentzken merged to form the new rural community of Camerau (1938 to 1945 Großmuckenhausen , in Polish Komorowo ). Pentzken was renamed on June 3rd - officially confirmed on July 16th - 1938 for political and ideological reasons to defend against foreign sounding place names in "Kleinmuckenhausen".

With the whole of southern East Prussia , the place was transferred to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war and was given the Polish form of the name “Pęczki”. In the first post-war years, the place is now orphaned and is likely to have merged in the village of Komorowo of the rural community Janowo in the powiat Nidzicki ( Neidenburg district ).

Until 1945 Pentzken / Kleinmuckenhausen was parish in the Protestant church Muschaken (Polish: Muszaki ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic Church Neidenburg in the Diocese of Warmia .

The local office of Pęczkis is located on a side road that branches off from Voivodeship Road 604 at Muszaki and leads to Janowo .
