Siemno ( German  Schönau ) is a non-existent place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . The local office is located in the area of the rural community Janowo in the powiat Nidzicki ( Neidenburg district ).

The local office of Siemno is 1 kilometer southeast of the Sawadder See (1938 to 1945 Schönsee , Polish Jezioro Zawadzkie ) in the southwestern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. Until 1945 it was directly on the state border with Poland .

The small Gutsort Schönau, called Sinna before 1785 , was incorporated into the Muschaken district ( Muszaki in Polish ) in the East Prussian district of Neidenburg in 1874 as " Gutsgebiet Schönau" . In 1910 Gut Schönau had 20 residents.

In 1929 Schönau gave up its independence and was incorporated into Sawadden (1938 to 1945 Herzogsau , Polish Zawady ). The place called "Siemno" has been in Poland since 1945, but has not been populated any more and has not been officially mentioned. Only the remains of a forge from the end of the 14th century are still recognizable, as are the remains of a mill wheel from a once-existing water mill . The local office could have risen in the village of Szczepkowo-Giewarty .

Until 1945, Schonau was a Protestant in the parish Muschaken in the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia the Prussian Union of churches , Catholic Roman hand in the parish Neidenburg in the diocese of Warmia eingepfarrt.

The remains of the no longer existing settlement are on the side road from Jagarzewo (Jägersdorf) to Janowo and to Stara Wieś (in today's Masovian Voivodeship ). A gravel road connects Szczepkowo-Giewarty with the local office of Siemno.
