history

The small village of Otnoga (around 1574 Viersch , after 1574 Uleschen ) was founded in 1571. In 1874 it came to the district of Roggen (Polish: Róg ) in the East Prussian district of Neidenburg .

With all of southern East Prussia , Ulleschen was transferred to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war and was given the Polish form of the name "Ulesie". Today the hamlet ( Osada in Polish ) is part of the rural community Janowo in the powiat Nidzicki ( Neidenburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Until 1945 Ulleschen was parish in the Protestant church Muschaken in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic Church Neidenburg in the Diocese of Warmia . Today Ulesie belongs on the Catholic side to the parish in Muszaki in the Archdiocese of Warmia , on the Protestant side to the parish Nidzica with the branch church in Róg in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
