LEDA / PGC 38117 is a galaxy of Hubble type SBa: with vast star-forming regions to the north in the constellation Virgo the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 50 million light years from the Milky Way . Together with PGC 1232966 it forms an optical galaxy pair and is considered a member of the NGC 4123 group ( LGG 275 ).

In the same area of ​​the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 4116 .
