At first glance, the French replica can only be distinguished from the original by the brand logo. However, if you place both vehicles side by side, the different external dimensions immediately catch the eye.

The engines of the Speedster came from the English Rover SD1 Vitesse . With a Holley quadruple carburetor from the American manufacturer Holley Performance Products, the output increased to 184 kW. The steering , as well as the suspension front and rear and the braking system had PGO European Ford Granada taken.

The taillights do not match the retro look. The chassis, the axles and the gearbox come from the Peugeot 206 . The Peugeot 206+ currently provides the basis for the model. An automatic transmission has also been available since 2008. Series production of the Speedster II began two years after its presentation in February 2002.

The best-known owner of a PGO was the German pop singer Jürgen Drews until May 12, 2014 . When trying to load his Speedster II onto a trailer, it gave too much gas and caused a total write-off.
