The PRG passenger and tourist traffic GmbH Greiz is the operator of regional and urban transport in Greiz and the surrounding area. The company was founded in 1991 as the successor to VEB Kraftverkehr Greiz and at that time also took over part of the buses and the route network of VEB Kraftverkehr Gera . The depot was inaugurated in Zeulenroda in 1995 and in Greiz-Gommla in 1997. The latter has a storage hall for 42 buses, a large workshop with a washing facility and a filling station for diesel and natural gas that can also be used privately.
In 2000 the route network was used by 65 buses, some of which run on natural gas. Today the PRG is coordinated and administered by the “ GRZ - Service- und Verwaltungs-GmbH Greiz ” together with the “ Regionalverkehr Gera / Land GmbH ” . The managing director of the three GmbHs is Stefan Meißner, the post of authorized signatory is Angela Rose. Martina Schweinsburg ( CDU ) is the chairman of the supervisory board .
In 2009 PRG Greiz took over the company "Ostthüringer Reisebüro und Busbetrieb Heyne" in Berga / Elster, including all lines.
On August 13, 2018, a new traffic concept was implemented in the PRG area. This realizes regular cycles on most lines and aligns the offers with rail traffic.

Current lines
PRG Greiz now operates 25 lines and is therefore responsible for public transport and school traffic in the southern part of the Greiz district and partly in the Saxon cities of Reichenbach / Vogtland , Elsterberg and Pausa-Mühltroff . The city transports Greiz and Zeulenroda as well as the transport of the city Berga / Elster are served . The city of Weida receives regional connections to the south and east as well as to Gera through the PRG .
With the lines 1, 2, 36 and 81 there are connections in the Saxon Vogtlandkreis , with the line 20 in the district Zwickau and with the line 40 in the Saale-Orla district . On the basis of the connection of the lines 81, 25 and 40, a regionally important bus line from Reichenbach via Greiz and Zeulenroda to Triptis is offered, which connects the three districts and the train stations of the connected cities. Line 81 runs as a PlusBus in the Vogtland transport association .
