The coast

The coast is about 70 kilometers long and is extremely varied from a geomorphological point of view. The sandy beach at Laigueglia has a slight red tinge, whereas the sand at Alassio is classically golden. At Ceriale , Borghetto Santo Spirito , Pietra Ligure and Borgio Verezzi , gravel mixes under the sandy beach . Further towards Genoa , at Caprazoppa , the coast becomes rocky and sandy beaches alternate with stone and pebble beaches, as at Finale Ligure . At Varigotti the sand is ivory-colored and very fine, whereas the sand at Capo Noli is white. Further east, at Albissola Marina , the sand again shows a reddish tint, at Varazze it changes to ivory and then into white.
