Pamela Rehfeld (born June 1, 1965 in Berlin ) is a German dancer , percussionist and music teacher .

Life

Already at the age of 5 in ballet lessons and at the age of 7 for the first time on stage, after graduating from high school (1983) she first trained as a nurse (1984–1987) and then worked as such in the psychiatric field until 1992. What followed was an apprenticeship as a glazier , which she successfully completed in 1994 and then worked in this profession until 2004, also training herself.

Parallel to her school attendance and the two subsequent apprenticeships, as well as during her professional life, Rehfeld continued to take dance lessons, initially mainly in classical and tap dance , later also in Afro-Brazilian dance .

In 1997 she joined the Berlin music and dance group Afoxé Loni , founded the year before by Dudu Tucci and Murah Soares , initially as a dancer, inspired by several stays in Bahia (1998, 1999, 2001), from 1999 also as a drummer, as the she finally completed the training in Afro-Brazilian percussion Raízes do Brasil with Tucci from 2000 to 2003 .

Activity as a dance and music teacher

During her time at Afoxé Loni , Rehfeld gave dance lessons in Movimento Ritmico , a Brazilian-classical mix, in Dudu Tucci's Kreuzberg PercussionArtCenter (PAC) in 2000 .

At the same time, she opened a shop for Brazilian musical instruments there in 2000, in which she began teaching Brazilian percussion herself under the company name HeartBeat . In 2004 she moved both to Berlin-Neukölln, where she only continued to sell instruments until 2008, and since then has devoted herself exclusively to percussion lessons.

After the same move, now to the Berlin drum center groove in 2008, Pamela Rehfeld has also been a lecturer four times at the autumn music festival Samba Syndrom in the Berlin FEZ, which was initiated by Klaus Staffa and the Berlin State Music Academy .

Rehfeld's other teaching activities include a. who worked as a music teacher and head of drum groups at various Berlin schools, a. a. in Marzahn-Hellersdorf, Neukölln and Kreuzberg (since 2011), and the establishment of a drum group of IG Metall Music of the Labor Movement (since 2014), which she then led herself, and finally a series of samba workshops lasting several weeks in five major Chinese cities ( Beijing , Jinan , Fuzhou , Xining and Yiwu (Jinhua) ) in the summer of 2017.

Pamela Rehfeld has been continuously participating in various regional and national samba events since 1997, be it as a member of groups that she herself - such as Afoxé Loni , Sapucaiu no Samba and others. a. - as a musician, be it as the leader of her own ensembles such as the Banda Um group or the HeartBeaters , which emerged in 2006 as a merger of various groups of students from Rehfeld's samba formation Mancha Azul, which she founded in 2002 .
