Parque dos Poetas

The Parque dos Poetas (dt .: Poet's Park ) is a park initiated by the district administration of Oeiras to honor Portuguese culture . The park was inaugurated in June 2003 and offers space for leisure, culture and sport with a view of the gardens dedicated to poetry and art.

It includes gardens, promenades, a playground, fountains, picnic areas and an amphitheater .

After the first construction phase, there are sculptures by the following poets: Carlos de Oliveira , Camilo Pessanha , Teixeira de Pascoaes , Mário de Sá-Carneiro , Florbela Espanca , José Gomes Ferreira , José Régio , Vitorino Nemésio , Miguel Torga , Jorge de Sena , Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen , Natália Correia , Eugénio de Andrade , Manuel Alegre , Fernando Pessoa , Alexandre O'Neill , António Ramos Rosa , David Mourão-Ferreira , António Gedeão and Ruy Belo .

The second construction phase on the park began in April 2010 and was completed with the inauguration on February 16, 2013. With this construction phase, the park was enlarged from the current twelve to 27 hectares . The park also received sculptures by (after a year of activity) : Dionysius , João Roiz de Castel-Branco , Gil Vicente , Garcia de Resende , Bernardim Ribeiro , Sá de Miranda , Cristóvão Falcão , Diogo Bernardes , Luís de Camões , António Ferreira , Francisco Rodrigues Lobo , Soror Violante do Céu , Frei Jerónimo Baía , Correia Garção , Filinto Elísio , Nicolau Tolentino , José Anastácio da Cunha , Marquesa de Alorna , Manuel Maria Barbosa Du Bocage , Almeida Garrett , António Feliciano de Castilho , Alexandre Herculano , Soares de Passulano , João de Deus , Antero de Quental , Gomes Leal , Guerra Junqueiro , António Feijó , Cesário Verde and António Nobre .
