Patryk Wajda (born May 20, 1988 ) is a Polish ice hockey player who has been under contract with KS Cracovia in the Ekstraliga since the beginning of 2014 .

Career

Patryk Wajda started his career in the youth department of Podhale Nowy Targ . At the age of 16, he moved to the youth academy of the Polish Ice Hockey Association , for whose teams he was active in the I league , the second Polish division, from 2004 to 2006 . During the 2006/07 season , the defender moved to KS Cracovia from the Ekstraliga . With his new team he won the Polish championship title in 2008, 2009 and 2011 . In the 2010/11 season he also took part in the Ekstraliga All-Star Game. In summer 2012 he joined the reigning master KH Sanok , which he left after only one year to switch to the Ekstraliga promoted KTH Krynica . When he got into financial difficulties towards the end of 2013, he returned to Cracovia to KS Cracovia , with which he won the 2014 Polish Ice Hockey Cup . In 2016 he won the cup and championship double with Kraków.

International

For Poland, Wajda took part in the junior division of the U18 World Junior Championships in Division I in 2005 and 2006 and the U20 World Junior Championships in Division I in 2007 and 2008 .

In the senior division, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , when he scored the most points scorer for a defender in 2013 , 2014 , 2015 and 2016 . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
