Paul-Otto Fassbender
Paul-Otto Faßbender (born May 26, 1946 in Düsseldorf ) is a German insurance company .
Life
Paul-Otto Faßbender, son of Walter Faßbender , studied law at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg . In 1982, he was at the University of Bochum with the work Occupational pensions and pension credits, the example shows the treatment of entitlements in the field of private insurance in the pension adjustment for Dr. iur. PhD .
He has been a member of the board of the family company ARAG since 1977 . After a 25-year power struggle between him and his cousin Ludwig Faßbender for a majority stake in the group, Paul-Otto has been the majority shareholder of ARAG Holding SE (formerly ARAG AG), the majority shareholder of ARAG, since 1998. From 2000 to July 2020 he was Chairman of the Management Board of the operating group holding ARAG SE.
The dispute over the amount of a payment from his father's estate to his four-year-old sister lasts even longer; after eleven years of out-of-court dispute, the matter was pending in the first instance for 34 years from 1983 to 2017 at the Düsseldorf Regional Court - the record length at the court. the judgment issued on April 5, 2017, the appeal was lodged, so that the legal dispute was finally decided in 2019 by the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court .
In July 2020, Faßbender was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ARAG SE. He is also still Chairman of the Management Board of the family parent company ARAG Holding SE.
Since 2003 he has been involved in the interests of the local economy as a member of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Düsseldorf .
Faßbender has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sportstiftung NRW since 2005 .
Faßbender has been a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. since 1967 . Ripuaria Freiburg im Breisgau in the CV .
At the beginning of 2015, the Faculty of Law at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf awarded Faßbender an honorary doctorate for his commitment to the Institute for Insurance Law and the promotion of young scientists.
Private
He is married and has two grown daughters. He got his private pilot's license as early as 1966 .
