Paula Smith (born January 10, 1957 ) is a former American tennis player .

Career

In the course of her tennis career, Smith won a total of twelve WTA double titles. She twice reached a final of a Grand Slam tournament, which she lost both times. On June 7, 1981, she lost the women's doubles at the French Open at the side of doubles partner Candy Reynolds against the pairing Rosalyn Fairbank / Tanya Harford with 1: 6, 3: 6. Four years later on June 9, 1985, she lost the mixed doubles final of the French Open alongside Francisco González against the pairing of Heinz Günthardt / Martina Navrátilová 6: 2, 3: 6, 2: 6.
