Barbara Potter (born October 22, 1961 in Woodbury , Connecticut ) is a former American tennis player .

Career

In her tennis career, Potter won a total of five singles and 18 doubles titles on the WTA Tour . She was in the final of a Grand Slam tournament three times , but couldn't win any. In 1982, she lost the finals at the US Open in women's doubles alongside Sharon Walsh against the pairing Rosie Casals / Wendy Turnbull 4-6, 4: 6 and in mixed alongside Ferdi Taygan against the pairing Anne Smith / Kevin Curren with 7: 6, 6: 7. 6: 7. In 1983 she lost again the final in the mixed of the US Open , again at the side of Ferdi Taygan, this time 6: 3, 3: 6, 4: 6 against Elizabeth Smylie and John Fitzgerald .
