Pawel Sergejewitsch Silin ( Russian Павел Сергеевич Силин ; born November 24, 1992 ) is a Russian natural track tobogganist . He rides in single and double seater and has competed in the World Cup since 2009 . He won the bronze medal with Iwan Rodin at the 2010 Junior World Championships and two years later the silver medal in the doubles with Ilya Tarasov .

Career

Pawel Silin had his first international appearance at the Junior World Championships in 2006 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . There he started together with Iwan Rodin in the two-seater, but only came in tenth and last place. Since 2008 he has competed regularly in international competitions and always drives with Iwan Rodin in a two-seater. At the Junior World Championships 2008 in Latsch they achieved fifth place and at the European Championships 2008 in Olang they achieved eleventh place in the doubles. The next year they took tenth place in the doubles at the 2009 World Championships in Moos in Passeier , but were disqualified at the 2009 European Junior Championships in Longiarü . At this Junior European Championship, Silin also started in the single-seater for the first time and came in 17th place. At the end of February 2009 he made his World Cup debut in Nowouralsk . In the single seater he was 22nd and 24th and thus 37th in the overall World Cup of the 2008/2009 season , in the doubles he achieved two ninth places with Iwan Rodin, but only came in 13th and last place in the overall World Cup.

In the 2009/2010 World Cup season , Pawel Silin competed in three single-seater races. He did not reach the placements of the previous year, his best result was a 25th place in Novouralsk and he was 46th in the overall World Cup. In the two-seater he took part in four World Cup races with Iwan Rodin. They finished eighth and tenth twice and came ninth in the overall standings, tied with Italians Florian Breitenberger and David Mair . At the 2010 European Championships in St. Sebastian , Silin / Rodin finished ninth in the two-seater and together with Lyudmila Astramowitsch and Juri Talych as Team Russia II finished eighth in the team competition. In the single-seater Pawel Silin came in 25th. At the 2010 Junior World Championships in Deutschnofen , which took place two weeks later , Pawel Silin and Iwan Rodin won the bronze medal in the double-seater behind the two Austrian duos Thomas Kammerlander / Christoph Regensburger and Dominik Apolloner / Dieter Apolloner , while Silin was the single-seater 14th

Since the 2010/2011 season , Pawel Silin started with Ilja Korobow in a two-seater. You contested two World Cup races this winter, but only finished 13th and last once. Silin did not take part in any races in the single-seater. The duo Silin / Korobow also took part in the 2011 World Championships in Umhausen . There they took tenth place as the penultimate. At the European Junior Championships 2011 in Laas , the duo came fourth out of seven doubles ranked. At the Junior World Championships 2012 in Laces , Pawel Silin and Ilja Tarassow won the silver medal in the doubles. He did not take part in World Cup races or the European Championship in the 2011/2012 season.
