Peeter Puide

Peeter Puide (born October 11, 1938 in Pärnu , Estonia ) is a Swedish writer and translator of Estonian origin.

Life

Peeter Puide left Estonia in 1944 and came to Sweden via a German refugee camp in 1945. He graduated from high school in Stockholm in 1957 and then studied sociology at Stockholm University . He graduated in 1963 with the cand. Phil. after studying at the Sorbonne in Paris for a while .

He then worked in various areas of the advertising industry, since 1972 as an independent entrepreneur. Puide writes in Swedish and made his debut in 1981 with a volume of poetry. Later he mainly wrote prose that deals with Estonian history.

Peeter Puide is a member of the Swedish Writers 'Association and the Estonian Writers' Association as well as the Swedish PEN Center. He was also a member of Wellesto .
