Peggy Büchse-Dietrich (born September 9, 1972 in Rostock as Peggy Büchse) is a former long-distance swimmer . The 1.70 m tall sportswoman studied sports science and education with a master's degree and English without a degree, after graduating from the CJD Jugenddorf-Christophorusschule Rostock in 1993 .

In the 1980s, Peggy Büchse began as a pool swimmer and in 1987 became European Junior Champion in the 400 m freestyle. At the beginning of the 1990s, she switched to long-distance swimming .

After her active career, Peggy Büchse worked as a sports lecturer at the University of Regensburg until 2011 . She is married to the triathlete Volker Dietrich. She lives with her husband and three sons in Augsburg , where she works as a sports teacher.

In the NDR documentary Supporting Agents - Trauma of GDR Sports , she reported in 2014 that, as a 15-year-old in the GDR, she received the doping drug Oral-Turinabol from her trainers.
