The Pentax K-70 is a compact 24-megapixel digital single-lens reflex camera from the Japanese manufacturer Ricoh , which was presented in 2016. Like the previously introduced APS-C top model by the manufacturer, the Pentax K-3 II , it masters the pixel shift resolution, with which an increased color resolution can be achieved with a static camera. In contrast to that, however, it is equipped with a built-in flash, a fold-out display and built-in WiFi. For the first time at Pentax, PDAF sensors are integrated into the sensor, which support hybrid autofocus and ensure continuous autofocus during video recordings.
Like its predecessors, the K-50 and K-S2 , the K-70 is also weatherproof. The price level and classic features reflect the claim to be an upscale entry-level model - compared to the flagship, there is no second display and a second memory card slot; In addition, a lower specified image computer is installed, called PRIME MII. In combination with a new "Accelerator Unit", according to the manufacturer, extremely high processing speeds and minimal image noise are achieved. This is also the basis for the new maximum exposure index of ISO 102400. In addition, the K-70 is the first entry-level Pentax to read the sensor with 14 instead of 12 bits.
