The Perth Darts Masters is a tournament in darts and was organized for the third time by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) at HBF Stadium in Perth from August 25th to 27th, 2016 . It was the sixth and final event of the 2016 World Series of Darts before the 2016 World Series of Darts Finals .

Michael van Gerwen replaced last year's winner Phil Taylor with an 11: 4 legs final win against Dave Chisnall .

format

A total of 16 players took part in the tournament. The field of participants consisted of the 6 best placed players of the PDC Order of Merit , 2 wildcard players and 8 additional local qualifiers. The current placement in the World Series ranking was the basis for the seeding list.

The tournament was played in a knockout system . The first round took place on August 25th. Game mode was a best of 11 legs . By the finale on August 27th, the mode increased to a best of 21 legs .

Prize money

The prize money for the Perth Darts Masters was not officially announced.

Since this is an invitation tournament, the prize money won was not taken into account when calculating the PDC Order of Merit.
