Peter-Maria Anselstetter
Peter-Maria Anselstetter (* 1961 in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz ) is a German actor and director . Together with Gabi Dauenhauer, Peter-Maria Anselstetter established the Courage Theater (formerly "Theater Freudenhaus") in the independent theater scene in Essen .
Career
Between 1978 and 1980, the native of Upper Palatinate received his acting training at the Fritz-Kirchhoff School in Berlin. He then moved to the Schillertheater in 1980 . Here he played in Boy Gobert's opening performance Everyone dies for himself according to Hans Fallada (directed by Peter Zadek ). This was followed by the Taming of the Shrew at the Free Volksbühne , also directed by Peter Zadek (artistic director Kurt Hübner ). Afterwards Peter-Maria Anselstetter went to the Schauspielhaus Frankfurt for a year and played under the direction of Heinrich Giskes . Two years at the city theater in Essen followed .
Theater courage
In 1985, theater enthusiasts took the initiative to convert the former paper warehouse in Essen into an independent theater and henceforth called it "Theater Freudenhaus". In 1991 the association of the Theater Courage (Ruhrgebietstheater eV) was founded in the same place . Since then, Peter-Maria Anselstetter has been the first member of the board to be responsible for operations management. He also works there as an actor, director and set designer. Together with Gabi Dauenhauer, the artistic director of the Courage Theater, a total of 55 in-house productions have been created since 1987, including Karl Valentin scenes (1987), a play about Jürgen Bartsch (1988), as well as the class enemy of Nigel Williams (1989) and Oops, now come I - a Hans Albers Revue (1992). In addition, pieces by Gerlind Reinshagen , Arthur Schnitzler , Jean-Paul Sartre , Edward Albee , Dario Fo , Bertolt Brecht , Sabine Thiesler , Jean Cocteau and some of their own were performed. There are also music revues (for example about Janis Joplin or the 1960s ), as well as comedy , cabaret , a musical , a crime thriller and erotic readings.
As early as 1994 he was director and actor at the Salto summer theater in Hamburg and in 1995 he was also the first member of the board of the Sassnitzer Promenadentheater e. V. on the island of Rügen . In 2003 Peter-Maria Anselstetter was seen in opera and musical productions at the Aalto Theater in Essen . There he played the gangster Harry Clark in Kiss me Kate and in the Merry Widow den Njegus, directed by Dietrich Hilsdorf .
Film and television roles
As early as 1981 and 1982 Peter-Maria Anselstetter played leading roles in two Berlin low-budget productions Spaghetti im Abfluss and Oben Scheine - Below stones . With the Hans Albers Revue from 1992, he made almost 700 appearances all over Germany . A WDR documentary was created about this, The blonde Peter, and in the same year he worked in the ARD production No beautiful country as Hans Albers singer.
