Hickman, also known as Hicky, started out in motorsport in racing series for young people in the early 2000s. In 2003 he took part in professional races in the Supersport class for the Hawk- Kawasaki team for the first time, and later he also competed in the British Superstock and Superbike Championship . In 2014 he made his debut in road races like the Isle of Man TT . The racing driver , who lives in Louth , achieved his international breakthrough in 2015 when he won two prestigious events in a BMW , the Ulster Grand Prix and the Macau Grand Prix . In 2016 he competed with Kawasaki and BMW and in 2017 with Triumph and BMW. On the latter, Hickman achieved his most significant win of his career so far in 2018 at the Isle of Man TT, where he set a new lap record. In 2019 he was the most successful driver in the TT with three wins. At the Macau GP in the same year, the race management subsequently revoked his victory and awarded it to his team-mate Michael Rutter . Hickman had taken the lead, but immediately before the overtaking maneuver, the race had been stopped due to a mass crash.
