Steve Plater (born August 22, 1972 in Luton ) is a retired British motorcycle racer .

Career

As a teenager, the trained bricklayer appeared at speedway events before mainly taking part in road races from 1994 onwards. He also took part successfully in the British Superbike Championship and in endurance races such as the one at Le Mans .

Steve Plater had a serious accident at the North West 200 in 2010. A complicated fracture of the forearm that he suffered forced him to end his active career.

Plater has two daughters and runs a property development company with his father at his home in Woodhall Spa .
