Phillip McCallen

Phillip McCallen (born September 22, 1963 in Portadown , Northern Ireland ) is a retired British motorcycle racer . McCallen mostly drove road races .
Career
Phillip McCallen grew up not far from Tandragee . Every year a road race for motorbikes - the Tandragee 100 - takes place around the small town . So he came into contact with racing very early on. He started his career in 1984. He was the last driver to win the Tourist Trophy in 1993 for the British brand Norton.
For a wider audience, Phillip McCallen appeared in 1998 by winning the Manx Grand Prix , the amateur and youth competition on the Isle of Man . The following year he competed as a professional driver at the Isle of Man TT and was able to win the race a total of eleven times, so that he is currently fifth on the all-time list of the best. The 1996 season caused a stir when he won four TT races in one week. This record was only surpassed in 2010 by Ian Hutchinson with five wins. In addition to the TT, McCallen also took part very successfully with several victories at the North West 200 and the Ulster Grand Prix .
After the end of his active career, Phillip McCallen got involved in association work. In 2010 he was elected President of the TT Riders Association, the driver's association for Tourist Trophy pilots.
Private life
Phillip McCallen is married to Manda - a former pageant winner . The couple have two children. He runs a motorcycle shop in Lisburn and has repeatedly worked as a consultant for Honda.
