Peter Maria Schnurr (born July 11, 1969 in Forbach , Black Forest ) is a German chef .

Career

Schnurr his education in 1989 made up 1992 with a Michelin star winning restaurant Fallert in Sasbachwalden . He then moved to the Hirschen restaurant in Sulzburg and, in 1993, to Andresens Gasthof in Bargum .

In 1994 he went to the three-star Waldhotel Sonnora restaurant under Helmut Thieltges in Dreis , then in 1995 to Johann Lafers Stromburg in Stromberg and Rockendorfs Restaurant in Berlin, where he moved to the First Floor restaurant in 1997 . In 1999 he went again to a three-star restaurant, to Jean-Claude Bourgueil's Im Schiffchen in Düsseldorf .

He started as head chef and patron in 2000 at the Berlin Capital Club in Berlin, where he was soon awarded a Michelin star.

Since February 2005 he has been head chef and patron of the Falco restaurant on the 27th floor of the Leipzig hotel The Westin . In 2008 the Falco was the first and so far only restaurant in the new federal states to be awarded a second Michelin star.

Media appearances

In the fourth season of the Sat.1 cookery show The Taste , Schnurr was one of the two guest jurors in the season finale. In 2018, Schnurr was seen as Roland Trettl's opponent in the third season of the VOX cooking show Kitchen Impossible . In the episode, the broadcast of which was originally planned for season 2, he was victorious over his competitor, although he was seriously injured in his second cooking challenge, and for this reason, as a novelty in the history of the show, again at an alternative date had to compete. He also competed in the 2nd so-called Christmas Edition of Kitchen Impossible alongside Roland Trettl against Tim Mälzer and Tim Raue . In 2019, alongside Eckart Witzigmann, he is a jury member of the Sat.1 show Top Chef Germany. At the end of 2019 he was seen again in an episode of Kitchen Impossible ( season 5 ), this time as a direct opponent of Tim Mälzer.
