Peter Veselovský (born November 11, 1964 in Košice , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak ice hockey player .

Career

Peter Veselovský learned to play ice hockey in his hometown with Partizán Liptovský Mikuláš . He did his military service at the army sports club VTJ Michalovce , for which he was active from 1985 to 1987 in the 1st SNHL , the Slovak relay of the second Czechoslovak division. Then the attacker switched to TJ VSŽ Košice . For the team he first played from 1987 to 1993 in the first division , the highest Czechoslovak league, where he won the national championship title with his team in the 1987/88 season. In the 1993/94 season he spent with Košice in the Slovak Extraliga, which was newly founded after the division of Czechoslovakia . For the 1994/95 season Veselovský moved to HC Škoda Plzeň from the Czech Extra League . In the following season he ran again for the TJ VSŽ Košice, with whom he immediately became Slovak champion .

In the 1996/97 season Veselovský was back in the Czech extra league on the ice, but this time for HC Becherovka Karlovy Vary . This was followed by a season each in the Slovakian extra league at MHk 32 Liptovský Mikuláš and in the French Ligue Magnus at the Hockey Club de Caen . From 1999 to 2001 he was under contract with Dunaferr SE Dunaújváros . With the team he became Hungarian champion in the 1999/2000 season . In the same season he was voted best foreign player. He last ran in the 2002/03 season for the HK 36 Skalica and the HK Spišská Nová Ves in the Slovak Extraliga, before ending his career at the age of 38.

Since then, Veselovský has been working in the desulphurization department at US Steel Košice .

International

For Czechoslovakia Veselovský took part in the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville and the 1992 World Cup. In both tournaments he won the bronze medal with his team.
