The 1999/2000 season was the 63rd season of the Hungarian Ice Hockey League , the highest Hungarian ice hockey league . Master was for the third time in the club's history Dunaferr SE Dunaújváros .

In the main round, each of the seven teams played a total of twelve games. The three best-placed teams in the main round qualified for Group A of the intermediate round, the top two of which contested the championship final. The other four teams of the main round met in group B of the intermediate round. The first placed in the intermediate round group B qualified for the game for 3rd place. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.
