The 1995/96 season was the 59th season of the Hungarian Ice Hockey League , the highest Hungarian ice hockey league . Champion was the first time in club history at all Dunaferr Dunaújváros .

In the first phase of the season, each of the five teams played a total of twelve games. The four best-placed teams then contested the second phase of the season, with the points taken from the first phase of the season. The two winners in the second phase of the season qualified for the championship finals. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
