The 1965/66 season was the 29th season of the Hungarian Ice Hockey League , the highest Hungarian ice hockey league . Champion was for the fourth time in the club's history Újpesti Dózsa SC .

mode

In the main round, each of the eight teams played a total of 14 games. The top four teams qualified for the final round, in which the champions were played, while the remaining four teams competed in a placement round. The points from the main round were taken over into the final or placement round. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
