The 2005/06 season was the 69th season of the Hungarian Ice Hockey League , the highest Hungarian ice hockey division . Champion was for the seventh time in the club's history Alba Volán Székesfehérvár .

In the main round, each of the seven teams played a total of twelve games. The top three teams qualified directly for the playoffs, while the remaining four teams then determined the fourth and final playoff participant in a qualifying round. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, one point for a loss after overtime and zero points for a defeat after regular time.
