Petra Weschollek (born November 1, 1973 in Oberhundem ) is a former German biathlete who now works as a sports scientist and teacher.
In 1989 Petra Weschollek took first place in the individual and relay competitions and second place in the sprint at the German youth and junior championships in Ruhpolding, Bavaria . At the European Cup from 1990 to 1992, she came first, two second and a third place. In 1991 she qualified for the Junior World Championship. In Galyatető , Hungary , she and her teammates secured the silver medal in the relay competition. In addition, she was able to win sixth place in the individual competition at Galya-tető among 80 starters and ninth place in the sprint. She also won a silver medal in the team competition at the following Junior World Championship in Canmore in 1992 and was able to record good individual results with seventh place in the sprint and twelfth place in the individual. In 1993 and 1994 Petra Weschollek took part in the biathlon world cup competitions in Bad Gastein , Pokljuka , Ruhpolding and Antholz . In 1993 she took fourth place in the relay together with Uschi Disl , Simone Greiner-Petter-Memm and Petra Schaaf . With 18th place in the sprint competition in 1994 in Antholz ( South Tyrol ), she won the nomination for the Olympic participation. At the Olympic Games in 1994 she was not used as a substitute runner for the relay . In 1995 she won the German biathlon championships on the 15-kilometer route. In addition, she was able to secure the overall standings at the German Cup this season. In 1995 she made her last World Cup appearances in Oberhof in individual and sprint.
Weschollek is married, has two daughters and lives in Saalhausen . She teaches sport and French at the municipal high school in Lennestadt .
