The parish church Lavamünd is east of Lavamünd in the district Pfarrdorf. The church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary was first mentioned in 1193.

Building description

The church is a three-aisled stacked church from the 15th century with a single-nave choir from the 14th century. The choir is supported by three-tier buttresses , the nave two-tiered. On the north side of the choir there is a late Gothic sacristy extension, on the south-west corner of the nave there is a round stair tower as a gallery. The late Gothic west tower with a pyramid helmet presented has two two-lane sound windows on each bell floor. On the tower's ground floor, profiled ogival portals on the west and north sides lead into the vaulted vestibule. A profiled west portal provides access to the inside of the church.

The three-aisled nave with three bays each is supported by eight-sided pillars. The warrior cornices of the pillars adorn the console heads, on the southwest pillar there is a tartsche with a maker's mark . Ribbed vaults rise above the side aisles, and ribbed vaults in the elevated central nave. The vault approaches end in polygonal services . The baroque gallery stands on pillars and is arched with a cross ridge. A pointed arched, profiled triumphal arch connects the nave with the choir. This is slightly drawn in and wider than the central nave. In the one-bay choir with a five-eighth closure, a ribbed vault rests on consoles. The console on the north side is decorated with a coat of arms relief, the other consoles are decorated with sheet masks and a tartsche with maker's marks. The keystones in relief show the Lamb of God and the handkerchief of Veronica . A portal with a lintel on profiled corbels leads into the sacristy . Two and three-part tracery windows illuminate the interior of the church. In some tracery of the choir, remains of glass paintings from the 14th century have been preserved.

Facility

The middle niche of the baroque high altar from 1703 contains a Baroque revised late Gothic statue of the Madonna, flanked by guardian angel figures. The statues of Saints Joachim and Anna above the sacrificial passage portals come from the stylistic environment of Marcus Antonius Claus and Christoph Rudolf. The altarpiece is a painting of St. Joseph with the baby Jesus. The picture is flanked by figures of two holy bishops and angels.

The two side altars were built around 1650. The left side altar consists of a triumphal arch over a small base on the main floor, a high aedicule as an attachment and a cartilage-framed picture as a crown. On the main floor there is a statue of Saint Gregory between Saints Agnes and Helena . The top is a coronation group of Mary , flanked by Saints George and Florian , with the statue of Mary from the group of figures being stolen.

The right side altar resembles the left in structure and decoration. The focal point is a crucifix that did not originally belong to the altar and is flanked by the figures of Saints Andrew , Peter , Paul and Rochus . In the top there is a protective cloak Madonna .

The left wall altar from 1639 consists of an aedicula over a small base and curved segments as an attachment. The altarpiece shows Saints Valentine , Sebastian and Rochus.

The right wall altar from 1642 consists of an aedicule over a small base with lateral cheeks and a split segment gable with a simple fitting cartridge . The altar panel shows three female saints, the top picture God the Father.

The pulpit , which was built around 1700, is decorated with carved figures of the evangelists and the console statuettes of Saints John Nepomuk and Philipp Neri . A canvas painting of a Madonna with St. Anthony Abbas and a holy water font made in the 17th century complete the furnishings of the church.
