The Roman Catholic parish church of Mannersdorf an der March is visible from afar in the east of the village of Mannersdorf an der March in the market town of Angern an der March in the Gänserndorf district in Lower Austria . The church consecrated to St. Agatha belongs to the deanery Gänserndorf in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The church is a listed building .

history

The early historic church, visible from afar , was built in 1863 in place of a previous Baroque building. In 1867 Mannersdorf became an independent parish .

description

The strictly structured building with neo-Romanesque façade elements has a raised, three-storey west tower façade, a mighty saddle roof , high arched windows within a band structure, an arched frieze in the cornice zone and a slightly indented choir . The tower is crowned by a tall pointed helmet.

The wide, three-bay nave has cross-rib vaults between belt arches and sturdy wall pillars. The three-part organ loft is vaulted with a groin . The slightly raised choir with a three-eighth closure has a ribbed vault on circular services . On the triumphal arch is labeled "1867" and "Arthur Sühs" fresco with a depiction of the Last Judgment to be seen. The church's stained glass windows date from 1909.

The uniform, predominantly neo-Gothic interior dates back to the second half of the 19th century. The high altar has a low reredos above its neo-Gothic canteen with a central tabernacle , crowned by a crucifixion group and above it on the final wall the altar sheet St. Agatha . The neo-Gothic side altar is a three-part niche altar with a central altarpiece, the Sacred Heart , above it on the incline of the triumphal arch a picture of the Holy Family and side figures of the Holy. Joachim and Anna . Further equipment includes a pulpit in historicist style, an organ built by Franz Strommer in 1850 , figures of St. Johannes Nepomuk , Stations of the Cross from the second half of the 19th century and a miraculous image in a rococo case from the second half of the 18th century.
