In his work, Philipp Valenta primarily deals conceptually with values, value creation processes and proportionalities. Within various media such as installation , object , performance , video and graphics , works from the topics of money , luxury , religion and politics are created . In particular, themes from the area of financial markets are predominant, allegorically linked to current events from society and the economy through historical references from both art history and ancient narratives. Valenta's works combine historical and contemporary components from cultural history while maintaining an indifferent stance on the topics of money, financial markets and luxury.

Due to their links, the resulting works often correspond in many ways with the places of their creation and presentation.

As part of his multi-year conceptual graphic series Being A Successful Artist, Valenta is giving away ink drawings to various museums and public collections. The ink drawings only consist of a single circle, a round, red point - the symbol for a successful sale of the picture, for example in a gallery. The motif of the red dot is used to play with strategies of the art market and the question of the value of artists is asked.

In addition to the collections that "Being A Successful Artist" brings together, his works are also represented in the Haupt Collection , Berlin, and the art collections in the Diocese of Regensburg .
