Reviews

James Berardinelli wrote on ReelViews that the film realistically shows the situation in Hawaii at the beginning of the 20th century. It seems neither artificial nor melodramatic, but more like a documentary. The development of the characters is inconsistent - one can understand their motives, but not identify with them.
