Pleśnik ( German  Plossenhof ) is a small town in the Polish Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Bisztynek ( urban and rural municipality Bischofstein ) in the powiat Bartoszycki ( Bartenstein district ).

Geographical location

Pleśnik is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, seven kilometers northwest of the town of Reszel ( German  Rößel ) and 23 kilometers southeast of the district town of Bartoszyce (Bartenstein) .

history

Today's hamlet ( Osada in Polish ) originally consisted of a large farm called "Abbau Ackermann". On November 18, 1862 it was officially named "Plösenhof" and was a residential area within the municipality of Plösen ( Pleśno in Polish ) in the Rößel district in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1885 there were 35 registered inhabitants in Plösenhof and in 1905 32 inhabitants.

As a result of the war, the place came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and was given the Polish form of the name “Pleśnik”. Today it is a village within the urban and rural municipality Bisztynek (Bischofstein) in the powiat Bartoszycki ( Bartenstein district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship.

church

Until 1945, Plösenhof was parish in the Protestant church Rößel in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic church Sturmhübel (Polish: Grzęda ) in the then diocese of Warmia . Pleśnik still belongs to the Catholic side of Grzęda, which now belongs to the Archdiocese of Warmia . The Protestant residents orientate themselves towards the church in Bartoszyce (Bartenstein) , a branch church of the parish Kętrzyn (Rastenburg) in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

Pleśnik is located on a side road that leads from Pleśno (Pllocken) to Tolniki Małe (Tollnigk) . There is no train connection.
