Pork Pie is an independent label from Berlin , which owes its name to a hat shape ( pork pie hat ) that goes back to the shape of an English meat pie .

history

Pork Pie was founded in 1989 by Matthias “Matzge” Bröckel as a label of the Vielklang company and was the first label in Germany to exclusively deal with Ska . In the meantime, Pork Pie has established itself as one of the most famous ska labels worldwide with releases from national and international bands.

Ska from Germany also became internationally popular with the help of the pork pie sampler series “Ska… Ska… Scandal” and “United Colors Of Ska”.
