The Portland Buckaroos were an American ice hockey franchise of the Pacific Coast Hockey League based in Portland , Oregon .

history

The Portland Buckaroos franchise began playing in the newly formed Pacific Coast Hockey League in 1928 . When this was temporarily dissolved after three years, the team moved to the North West Hockey League , in which they also played for three years. When the PCHL resumed playing in 1936, the Buckaroos returned to the league. In 1937 and 1939 they were able to win the PCHL championship title. When the league was temporarily dissolved for the second time in 1941, the Buckaroos stopped playing.

From 1960 to 1976 a team of the same name played in the city.
